THE ASK
2 single covers, an EP cover, and logo system.
VEILED REALITIES
I was given 2 weeks and full creative freedom to create the cover art for Veiled Realities, Southbound441's debut EP.
PROCESS / SKETCHES
Utilizing photography, layered image cutouts, and digital manipulation techniques the Veiled Realities cover was created.
FINAL DESIGN
ROTT
To create the cover art for Southbound441's single, Rott, I created a custom illustration and employed digital manipulation techniques to produce the final design.
The single explores themes of internal pain and resentment. Imagery indicative of timekeeping (stopwatch) is used to emphasize time’s role in the process of decay, further supported by an abstract pattern of broken glass. Finally, paired with an illustration in the style of hellenistic sculpture a strong association between the song and the fleeting nature of our time on earth is made.
MOODBOARDS
UNTIL THE BITTER END
Southbound441's debut single, Until the Bitter End, required a cover design that visually expressed the dark undertones expressed in song. The final artwork was created through mixed media processes and digital manipulation using photoshop.
LOGOS
Southbound441's logos were created to emanate the aesthetic of late 80s metal bands. The final logo was designed with a custom handwritten font to give Southbound441 an identity that is inimitable.
